:::: J o l e n e T h a y e r ::::: Seattle, Washington, United States; Welcome to my Blog! I am a ceramic artist located in Seattle, Washington. I am currently finishing my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Ceramics (3D4M) from the University of Washington. :::: I am interested in all things ceramic but primarily focus on the figure. As I work I draw inspiration from the physical body I inhabit to the consciousness that exists within. I am inspired by inner narrative- the child-animal-self who is often times vulnerable, awkward, jealous and embarrassed - as well as all the other varying states of one’s emotions. I think of the figures I make as the multifaceted self, often composed of sub personalities. :::: It is through my workings in clay that I hope to tap into the timeless aspects of the human experience :::::: our secrets, emotions, desires, imaginations and the subconscious layers of self. ::::This blog is about my work (in various stages), my environment , curiosities, fascinations and journeys.
