Studio Space

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I am very fortunate to have a studio at home. Its in our basement and came into being a couple of years ago when my husband John surprised me for our anniversary with a hot new Shimpo wheel and my very own studio in our basement. Its pretty stellar to have one in my own house, which means on days that I can’t stand the thought of commuting to Seattle to my studio at UW from my house (which take about 2.5 hours) I can put the kettle on, make some tea and walk down the steps to my studio still in my yoga pants with last night’s crusty mascara still caked to my face and begin work. It fabulous other reasons too. I get into my studio grove by putting on one of my favorite podcasts. I usually start with the Nerdist. It's my number one go to. You've gotta check it out. Chris, Jonah and Matt are sure to make you laugh and spice up your day. Find more @ http://www.nerdist.com/. After that I can check out some of my favorite blogs, peruse Pinterest, check my email and then easy into my studio practice. When I'm in the groove I can stay in the studio all day until John comes home or until it is too nice outside and it is time for a beer.

I am so interested in seeing other artists studios. Whether its painting, ceramics, sculptures or even gardening sheds! Do you have one? What's it like? Here are some of my favorites, its so fun to look:
